Transition to Practice Series Program Presented by the ISBA Membership & Membership Benefits Committee
REGISTRATION FORM
The ISBA has planned this series (on Feb. 26 & April 2) to provide practical no-nonsense guidance for law students and new attorneys on how to practice law. Presented at the IU McKinney School of Law, Room 245, experienced practitioners will lead these presentations on essentials every new lawyer needs to know.
April 2 • 1 hr. Ethics CLE • Actual time: 12:45 - 1:45 p.m.
This session will inform you of the reasons you need to have an engagement letter and advise you of best practices regarding when and how to execute the letter and what to include in it. Presenters will identify aspects of the engagement letter that address the duties, such as competence and loyalty, that a lawyer owes a client under the Rules of Professional Conduct, and ways those duties can also be addressed in the letter.
Presenters: James W. Riley Jr., Indianapolis, and Stephanie Chaudhary, Indianapolis
